Hi, I have a employer who is wanting to set up a childcare voucher scheme but do not want to go through an administrator (e.g. Edenred) as they do not want to pay the administration charges. Has anyone set up a scheme themselves and still issued vouchers rather than paying the childcare provider directly.

Thanks

Louise

  • Hi Louise

Really sorry all the businesses I have worked with had someone do this for them even the relatively small ones with only 200 employees.  I think because of the complexities and the fact the schemes can change perhaps one to bite the bullet and outsource?

    Kind regards

  • I work in a secondary school, with over 200 staff, which runs the system itself. I haven't been involved but I know that it creates a great deal of inflexibility - the school pays each childcare provider directly, there is no provision for saving credit for future use or for varying the amount of payment each month (as it causes more work for the finance office). Not sure I see the logic of it at all, unless for a business with a small number of employees.
