Hi all
Just thought I would share this great post about supporting employees with depression.

Also interesting to read on the day when a study reports about the rise in anxiety related disorders.

How does your Company approach this sensitive matter?
All the best

In my business the HR team have been put through a Mental Health First Aid 2 day course and we are now known as 'Mental Health First Aiders'. This has given us skills on how to better understand when someone is dealing with things such as depression and Anxiety disorders, such as how we can support and who we can advise them to. We also looked at topics such as suicide, panic attacks, addictions and eating disorders We are considering rolling it out to the management team to help with the Health and Wellbeing of our employees.
Both of this mental illnesses are severe. There is really no cure. Some drugs can help, but in the long run they do more harm than good.
What Benjamin Fletcher write could help, but it will for sure not cure anyone.
What you can do? Give the employee 30 minutes pause and let him meditate. Meditation can cure depression if it is correctly applied and if it is done every day.
