Morning All
Looking for some ways and ideas of sending payslip to employees. The reason I am putting this forward is because i have seen a few articles about this. Here is one: Businesses can face court action if they email payslips to employees! https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/businesses-can-face-court-action-email-payslip-paul-holland
We have been emailing payslips and was wondering what your thoughts are on this and how do you all send out payslips.....post them?

Thanks for sharing Richard. In my business we use Xero accounting software which emails employees with their wage slips directly which so far they seem OK with. I think as the number of items we receive by email increases employees are increasingly more happy with this as an approach, do you find this also?

Hi Sarah,
It makes sense for some people to request a hard copy. Out of interest would for yourself, the ability to print and save PDF version from an online platform like e-payslips cover that need?
Best Regards,
Liv
The problem I have is that I'm not that organised and I would probably forget to download and save the PDF and print it out at least with a hard copy eventually I have to file it somewhere!
All the best
Sarah
Thanks Sarah, it is great to understand the variety in individual preferences!
Best Regards,
Liv
If you've got the infrastructure to support it then a platform where employees can self-serve they payslip is very cost effective and you could also argue more secure as it can't go missing in the post.
That said I was one of the awkward squad who requested a hard copy I found it saves time when you needed to access it for tax related stuff. From my experience employees like choice!
All the best

Hi Karin,
We recently introduced e-payslips to our company and found that this was much more time and cost effective to doing hard copy payslips and has the added advantage of complete confidentiality. Employees can log in to a website or use an app on their mobile
We made quite a considerable saving doing this and so far the feedback has been very positive from employees, particularly those who work remotely and no longer have to wait for their payslips.

I hope this of interest and I believe they have discount for referrals!

Hi Karin,
We email out payslips directly from our payroll software, however they're password protected (a password chosen by the employee and kept confidential in HR). We have one or two employees who prefer to have a hard copy of their payslip so we print theirs instead.
If I have to email a payslip to someone outside of normal payroll then it's not password protected, but I'll make sure I get the employees confirmation that they are happy for this to still be emailed unprotected - otherwise having the choice of paper copy of course.
Many thanks
Becky
Hi Karin, I understand that in all cases the employees need to 'do something with their email attachments' as otherwise their inboxes will become unwieldy filing cabinets. Out of interest, do most of them choose private or corporate emails as the destination for payroll?
I can suggest https://MyDocSafe.com, which automates the distribution of payslips in a secure way by creating private accounts for each employee 'as a perk' and securely placing copies of payslips into them. The documents travel from the payroll system to MyDocSafe either via a secure API connection or through a PGP email. You can read more about it here: https://mydocsafe.com/industries/payroll/
