McDonald's have gone on record with their plans to offer the chance for employees to move off zero hours contracts.
Is this the beginning of the end? What are the pros and cons of zero hours contracts?
This could be something to think about for anyone involved in business environment analysis.

I'm loving it. What a great story and about time too Gary. Thanks for sharing.
I particularly like the reason behind why this is being done. According to Chief Exec Paul Pomroy featured in the video on that link 'One of the the things they [the employees] told me was that in the current climate getting things like mobile phone contracts, car loans and mortgages is getting tougher'
The fact that he's a) taken time to talk to people b) listened to what they have to say and most importantly c) taken action on that feedback is commendable. Yes, I hope this is the end of zero hours contracts being used for the masses.
I also think this is a great example of valuing and acting on feedback from teams and gets me thinking more about the work we've been doing recently with Always On Employee Engagement which is well worth checking out.
And to top it all off, News Flash: McDonalds considering deliveries too? Now that's news that will no doubt please many!
Great share Gary
