Hi all,
I work for a small company (approximately 45 people) and we have a couple of employees who are coming up to their five year anniversary with us. We work in a pretty niche environment and place a lot of emphasis on how much we value our team (and we really do!). Our CEO has asked me to have a think of a few different ways we could recognise these anniversaries so I was just wondering if anyone from the community had any suggestions / ideas / things that have worked well for them in similar situations?
Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Thank you,
Suzie

Yay! Glad the community could help Suzie ;-)
Hi all,
Thank you so much for your suggestions, they are really appreciated. I like the idea of additional annual leave and something like a gift voucher, I think I will do a quick survey and see what people within the company suggest also!
Thanks again for your help, this was my first community post and I'm so happy I got great responses,

Hi Suzie
Great post glad to see you've already had some really good suggestions. My initial thoughts would be to survey the employees to find out whay they value in terms of recognition. We used to do this on the power stations and I know different people value different things,
All the best

Where I work we give stay an additional days holiday at 5 and an extra 2 days at 10 years. We also give a one off bonus of £250 at 5 years, £500 at 10 years, £750 at 15 years and £1000 at 20 years. The bonus is paid through their salary so it is taxed but the employee really do find this a positive benefit.

Hi Suzie,
I work for a small private company (approx. 70) and we reward length of service by an additional days holiday per year (maximum of 5 days, once they reach 10 years) then we reward 15 & 20 years with a gift presented by the partners and 25 years service a small lunch gathering

Hi Suzie,
We're a bit larger (150) so for those with 5 years, we present them with a bottle of bubbly and flowers at the Christmas Party. We then have a few at 8 years who have been given a £250 meal voucher (they just claim through expenses so they can pick wherever they want to go).
We also increase holiday by length of service so when people hit 5 years they are on 25 days holiday.

Hi Suzie,
We looked at this a few years ago when we started getting employees coming up to 5 years employment (we have 28 employees). The reward we offer is 1 extra day of holiday per year and a £50 gift voucher (we go for M&S). We now have employees coming up to 10 years so we're doubling the reward- 2 extra days holiday and a £100 gift voucher.
This seems to have been well received by all members of the team so far- especially the extra holiday!
