Hi Everyone,
I'm currently reviewing our recruitment policy and am interested to find out what the typical incentive payments are for refer-a-friend schemes?
We currently offer £250 when a referral starts with us, then another £250 once they successfully complete their 6 month probation. We do get some staff referrals, but I wonder if we increased the amount paid out, whether it would drive any more?
How does this compare to what other companies offer?
Many thanks in advance
Becky

Hi Becky,
We pay £500 on successful completion of the 3 month probation period.

Hi Becky,
I will be following this discussion with interest now because it has been on and off my mind for some time now. If we did go with this then these are the top line figures I would offer to be honest.
Certainly for our company, I cannot see that the referral fee would be the driver for referring people because we work so hard on the culture that it tends to happen naturally.
I too am in the midst of reviewing our practices and it is looking favourable to have an ' in house recruiter' which if we find the right person, would prove to be beneficial all round as they would understand our strong culture, specific wish lists, provide more timely recruitment and it would be a 'no brainer' financially versus the agency costs as well as our own time doing this.
Good luck with your recruitment review and I will be interested to see what others say.

Hi Becky
From memory and it was a little while ago this is exactly the same scheme which we offered at EON. I can't give you numbers in terms of if it drove referrals as generally this was used in the Retail business. What sort of business do you work in and are there any typical types of roles which you volume recruit for?
