Retirement Gifts

Hi everyone,

We are looking at introducing a gift for colleagues who retire from us and I wondered if any other organisations do this and if so, what value is offered? We are thinking of offering 3 or 4 options that the colleague can choose from e.g. Love2Shop vouchers for £250, a Red letter Day type experience for £250, a watch. Is this in-line with other companies? What feedback has anyone had regarding any gifts?

Thanks,

Leeanne

  • Hi Leeanne,

We offer colleagues with 5 years' service who are at state retirement age a £100 Love2Shop voucher and £100 for a celebratory meal.  This is usually well received by colleagues.  If they have long service they keep their discount card for life also (10% off in stores).

    Hope that helps!

    Nicole.

  • Sounds great Leeane I think we used to provide vouchers not exactly sure re the amount it could be up to £250 though quite reasonably.

Also we used to arrange a farewell lunch with flowers and speeches etc that always used to go down well and was very well received.  For context this was on a power station where typically people would be leaving with lots of service.

    I hope this helps

    Sarah
