Induction Booklet

Hi All,

I have tasked myself with changing the company induction process. Part of this process is to create an induction booklet/guidance document that enables a supervisor to conduct the induction to a a set standard..

Rather than re-invent the wheel does anyone have a document that they are willing to share? Or are there any good ones that I can access via the internet?

Many Thanks

Stuart

  • I did a guidance document for accident investigations for spvrs that worked brilliantly as all of the accident investigation are done to the correct standard. I was thinking of a similar document so that supervisors and managers can do the same standard of induction each time. What do you think? What do you have?

  • Hi Stuart

    I would suggest

1 - A bit about the orgs work, the Exec team who they are, mission, vision, values, equalities principles and locations

2 - Structure of the org, what each part does

    3 - HR, IT, H&S information

4 - Customer Service standards, products

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Stuart,

What do you envisage the document including?

    • Is it to set out the standards that inductees need to meet?
    • Is it to provide guidance on how the induction should be delivered e.g. timetable
    • Is it to provide guidelines on the standards expected of the supervisors e.g. behaviours, objectives
    • Is it a tick box to help supervisors keep a track of things they've covered?
    • Does it need to include an observation form so supervisors can be observed and have feedback if they meet or don't meet the standards?

Would also be good to get a bit of context to it e.g. do supervisors currently deliver induction, are they new starters, existing employees who move roles, how do L&D work with or support supervisors currently?

If it's an observation form then I have something I can share that you could potential use or change accordingly.

  • Hi Stuart

I can help you out with such a doc. Do you still need this?
