Hello community,
I wonder if any of you have any good resources to help with developing team teaching as a way of linking topics that are covered in our Exec Ed courses. For example bringing our finance tutor and our economics tutor together to team teach a session. The idea being to demonstrate that in the business world there are many aspects to consider when making decisions and developing strategies. There are a few things online but they are quite school / college focused and I wanted to find a business perspective too.
Thank you,
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
This can be a very good idea and I have been involved in organising team teaching in the past. But it depends very much on the tutors wanting to be involved.
If they have never tried joint teaching it can feel a bit intimidating for some.
They need to discuss in advance what the precise learning objectives of the session will be, what each of them will deliver and how, so they don't "tread on each others toes" or "steal each others thunder".
Some tutors are very protective of their delivery approach and don't like to share sessions.
What is your work environment? (I looked at your profile but it just said "other"!)
Do your tutors ever come together for L&D meetings? Or curriculum meetings? Perhaps you could open the discussion at one of these, brandishing your Exec Ed course syllabus and see whether they come up with any good ideas or can agree to consider it further.
What sort of resources did you have in mind when you asked the question above? Information on the benefits of joint teaching? Lesson templates? Ideas for joint sessions? I wasn't quite sure.
Good luck in your mission anyway. Let us know what happens!
