But it's not farewell Mike. The journey continues.

Mike is the genius brains behind the DPG Community which has grown over five years to become what it is today; thousands of HR and L&D professionals connected in one big community of practice. People who connect, share and learn from each other. We are extremely proud of the DPG Community and the impact it has had on the development of many. The DPG Community Team has grown from strength to strength and we're looking forward to taking the baton continuing the great space we have. We're looking forward to having all our community members with us every step of the way and we thank you for being part of what we have here.

We couldn't let the moment slip by without a few words from Mike, so I grabbed the chance to talk to him in this fifteen minute chat. We reflect on the journey of the DPG Community, talk through the examples of how it has added value for so many and give you a sneak peak into what's ahead for the future.

But it isn't farewell Mike. It sounds like he's got plans to be around in the future. We look forward to staying connected ;-)

Have a listen.

The annual conference of Association for Talent Development (ATD) runs for four days and is attended by tens of thousands from around the world. DPG’s Community Mike Collins presented his session 'Developing a learning community that works'. The session was designed to provide those attending with a useful framework to help them harness the power of both on and offline communities for learning. Mike encouraged those attending to think about the purpose and product of their communities, the people involved, the platform and the ‘Pied Piper’ required to lead communities of practice to success.

Speaking after his session, Mike said 'Massive thanks to everyone who got involved in conversations. Conversations were the powerful thing in the session. It's where people come together and share ideas which is the basis of a community of practice.'

If you weren't at the ATD2016, or you were in one of the many other sessions that were taking place yesterday, don't worry. You can see a similar session on the recording below.
