In this new study, we will build on our 2011 report 'Reinventing Leadership Development' and explore the how new learning models can help to build both the ideas and skills that are essential for the leaders of the future.
The aim of this research is to help all participants improve the impact of learning technologies in leadership development through the sharing of good practice.
How long will it take?
This survey will take about 20-25 minutes of your time. Individual responses will be kept completely confidential, unless agreed otherwise. The survey closes on 19 January 2015.
Towards Maturity's Modernising Learning research shows that when top leaders use learning technologies in their own development, the overall impact and business benefit of technology-enabled learning is increased across the organisation.
Whilst 92% of organisations in the 2014 Benchmark were providing leadership development, fewer than half of these programmes was e-enabled. Indeed, Directors and Senior managers are amongst the least likely to be offered blended or online programmes for their own skills development.
- 49% report reluctance on the part of senior managers to use online materials
- 51% report management reluctance as a major barrier to their learning and development strategy
- only 26% of top managers are seen to use learning technologies
Learning leaders in the Top Deck are characterised by high commitment from their senior managers and excellent communications with managers at all levels and at all stages of the learning cycle.
