The L&D research and analyst organisation Towards Maturity has just launched this year’s benchmark. Called the Learning Health Check, this invaluable resource is used by organisations around the world to identify their current learning strategies and performance and then build on those strategies and performance, based on actionable insights provided by Towards Maturity.
A team of Towards Maturity analysts examine the learning processes, practices and performance metrics of organisations and use that data to provide insights and recommendations that lead to greater organisational impact. In an age where data is critical, Towards Maturity bases all of its insights and recommendations on data.
How it works is that participants answer a series of questions concerning their current learning strategies, achievements and goals. The process is designed to take 40-45 minutes and then participants receive an email the same day, detailing the results on a personalised dashboard.
The benchmark has been specially created to encourage participants to reflect on their practice and strategies while answering the questions. As a result, the vast majority of participants (97%) say the very process of taking part gives them new insights on how to be future fit, even before they receive the feedback and insights from Towards Maturity.
The personalised dashboard tells organisations how they are currently performing with regards to learning and performance, based on strategic and learner intelligence gleaned from their answers. That information is benchmarked against thousands of other high performing organisations across the world and across a range of sectors. Many organisations keep doing the benchmarking year after, enabling them to build up a very comprehensive picture of their organisation and how they are progressing.
At a time when learning professionals need to be making better use of data in order to improve learning strategy, delivery and performance, this benchmark provides the ideal opportunity to really push for evidence-based practice.
