Why in the moment learning matters

Why in the moment learning matters

My wife and I grappled with a car seat for our daughter which wasn't fitting into it's isofix ports. I know, it's the eternal struggle.

So we signed up to a course, and in 6 weeks time we'll be fully accredited child seat fitter inners. Only joking. That would be ridiculous.

Instead we watched a YouTube video to diagnose the problem. Rewatched it a couple more times, and then fixed the seat installation. Now that's learning at the point of need and in the moment.

Imagine if the same happened in the workplace. You hit a problem or a barrier with your work and there are resources immediately available to you to fix it. To learn from it and move on - improving your performance instantly!

Sounds awesome right? Then why don't we do it?
