Learning self-service - a beginner's guide

Mark Tew, Business Manager, V1 Limited

Learning and development is no longer about pushing out a schedule of courses. Increasingly it’s about capturing and sharing knowledge across an organisation, allowing employees to pull down what they need, when they need it. Join Mark Tew on this webinar as he explores the key challenges faced by organisations adopting a self-service approach to learning and examines the value of this approach, including mobile delivery. The webinar will draw on case studies to illustrate:

  • The principles of learning and training self-service
  • Impact measures, including productivity gains and improvements in customer service
  • Improving learning take-up
  • Understanding and reporting on learner activity
  • Using self-service for demand-led training and development planning

Making insight applicable: how the semantic web unlocks the hidden power of your people

Toby Harris, Creative lead and platform product manager, Saffron Interactive

In the 1980s former HP CEO Lew Platt apparently said If only HP knew what HP knows, we would be three times more productive. Today, that challenge of putting knowledge and learning to use is wider and deeper than ever. The same problems are being solved repeatedly by professionals who compete instead of collaborating. Expensively maintained content libraries sit largely unused, shackled by a user legacy interface which belongs to the 20th century. But there is an alternative. Knowledge management 3.0 harnesses the semantic web to understand what individuals need – sometimes even before they need it. Attend this webinar to awaken the sleeping giant of insight in your organisation.

  • The cost of the knowledge management crisis
  • Why 20th century technology can’t solve this 21st century problem
  • What behavioural economics and the semantic web teach us about knowledge management
  • The importance of a semantic content management systems
  • Simple steps to enhance your organisation’s Knowledge Management

  • Excellent - The LSG group is where I 'cut my teeth' with online communities and I'm still group owner of the Share & Learn Good Practice group although my activity is not that much these days. See you on Thursday if I can make it.

  • Thank you for alerting us to those webinars Mike. I hope to attend at least the second one.

I have just tried to join the LSG group as well - now waiting to see if my application is approved.
