If you’re contemplating a move within your organisation - how confident are you that your CV will land you that elusive interview? Or is there a chance it could cost you the career move of your dreams?

The reality is, many CVs just don’t hit the mark, and often it’s because what we’re told and taught about writing a CV isn’t really that effective. Your CV needs to be more than a personal statement and a bullet-point list of your past roles. It needs to sell you as the perfect candidate.

In our next webinar, hosted by Phil Purver (TWM) and delivered by Sarah Hobbs (T&P), we’ll be discussing how recruiters and HR departments think when recruiting, exploring the principles behind crafting the perfect CV, and showing you how to make your application stand ahead of the crowd.

Whether you’re looking for a new role now or just thinking of dusting off your CV in the future, be sure to register now and join us on the day. It could be 30 minutes that decides whether you’re invited to interview or consigned to the rejection bin.

  •  Hello

I've missed it yesterday and I wanted to watch the recording of it but cannot find/access it!  Should I wait longer for the record to ba available?

  • Hi all, this looks like a great event.

Does anyone know how i can register for a CareerBurst account please? I click on the above link and it says i don't have a account.

Also will this session be recorded? Unsure if my request for leave will be granted.

    Have a lovely weekend !

    Thanks, Kiran

    • Hi Kiran

Here is a direct link to the session for you:

The session will be recorded and the recording will be on the CareerBurst platform. I've checked and, you are correct, we don't have a CareerBurst profile for you as yet. I've messaged the technical team to rectify this and they always respond to my requests really quickly. I'm sure that if you follow those instructions again this time tomorrow that you'll find your profile will then be waiting for you 😊

The only reason that the profile is not there presently is that you joined the Community recently and we only run updates every so often. All should be well within 24 hours.

It is great to see you so active on forums and in webinars!

    • Ps i;ve followed the instructions at the side for a new account but sadly no joy! Says there is a error and when i have clicked forgotten password, i just get a error saying the email is not assosciated to any account.

"I'm sure there are but I genuinely don't know how they would do it. I'm just finishing up CHR and the 2600 word assignment at the end, I'm already over 4000 words. I'm sure I can get it down a bit but dropping c1400 words is going to be a challenge…"

"Yes, absolutely.  I write my assignments and then have to take so much out.  I've just had a referral for my EML submissions and I'm frustrated as cut so much and have taken out content that would have let me achieve the pass.  I can't see how I…"

Lewis Brandreth-Poynter replied to Susannah Whitman's discussion Struggling with essay word counts
"Yes, I am completely in the same boat. The frustrating thing is that resubmissions do not need to follow the wordcount therefore I could in theory write the essay, fail, and then resubmit my original essay before I cut words and pass.
