Hello All,
I am presently completing my level 5 in HR plan and will be finished at latest in December 2020 however I am hopeful to be completed before then.
My background is as a duty manager, line manager, senior manager and business owner in sports, retail and food service industries which had given me 20 years experience as a manager with 9 years of it in a larger retailer where as a line manager and senior manager I had a lot of exposure to dealing with people management and HR within my roles such as recruitment and selection, performance management, people management, disclipnary and investigations etc which I am seeing especially now with completion of this course.
My question is how do I translate this into jobs I can apply for once the course is completed.
For example I have a lot of business experience so would I be considered for a HR business partner role?
Thanks for your help in advance.
I am from Edinburgh and would be looking to commence a full or part time role in HR on completion of the course and I am flexible to what level I start.

Hi Bryan,
In regards to your question I can only say that in order for you to be a Business Partner usually CIPD level 7 is required. However, level 5 is still good base and having in mind your 20 years experience in the Business sector you should be considered for such role by some of the companies out there.
Sorry to change the subject, but may I ask if you are happy with the DPG course and support for the CIPD level 5 qualification as DPG currently have an offer and I need to decide in the next couple of days should I register with them or not. Also I have been told that if I spend about 10 hours a week I should complete the course in about 8/10 months... is this pretty reasonable or not? When did you start the course and how many hours studying do you spend per week since you are expecting to finish the course in a December next year? I am really sorry for all the questions but your answers will help me to decide as I am busy during the day up to around 8 pm. Many thanks in advance.
