I'm working with a private contractor, he is just starting to employ staff and has asked what would be the best contract to give to employees, the guaranteed shift pattern would be
Week 1 - M, T, W, Th, Fri
Week 2 - M, T,
He has said that he will most likely be able to provide work for the empty days, however does not want to guarantee it, I'm thinking he'd be better off with the dreaded zero-hour contracts, at least initially until the business is fully established and he can guarantee the hours. If used properly and ethically however, this could give the flexibility he needs initially.
What are your thoughts?
