I was wondering if it is necessary to include the salary amount in the contracts of employment. If so, what do you do when there is a salary increase, do you need to ament the contract of employment each time?
Thanks for your advice.

Hi all!
This is a really interesting topic! As I had a query about the same which I have been trawling through the Internet today to find out the answer to... Particularly changes of job title, but the comments below clear this up - thank you :)
Would you happen to know where I can obtain example documentation from i.e. sample employment contracts, sample Written Statement of Particulars, etc.? I don't have access to XpertHR or HR-Inform unfortunately where I understand there are a lot of sample documents.
Many thanks in advance,
Adele
Hi Adele,
Apologies for the late reply. Do you still need some template? If so let me know and I will email them directly to you.

Hi Sarah
Yes under Section 1 of the Employment Rights Act salary is part of what the employer is required to provide the employee within the Written Statement of Particulars.
I do the same as Leanne,I include the salary within the contract of employment, then each year when there is a salary increase provide a letter confirming the change to the salary and no other changes to their terms and conditions etc.
All the best
Sarah
Many thanks Sarah. This helps a lot.

No worries Sarah
Hi Sarah
In my company, we always include the salary in the contract, but if the employees job changes or they get a salary increase, we do an 'amendment to contract' letter which states the new salary plus any other changes then add in a sentence to state that all other terms remain the same. We then ask the employee to sign and return to us.
Hope this helps.
Leanne
Thank you very much Leanne. This is very useful.
