Hi All,
Myself and the Benefits Advisor are trying to promote our benefits more creatively, especially as our enrolment window will be opening in June.
Does anyone have any experience or any ideas on how we can promote more creatively to engage with our employees?
Thanks
Jaspreet

Hi Jaspreet,
I suppose it depends what benefits you are offering but I think the idea of suppliers coming in to discuss is a good idea. My current employer have free gym membership with a local racket/training centre. They have come on site to do free health assessments and enrolment sessions. This has been really effective for getting people started and engaged. We also have annual awards, one of which is gym attendee of the year, ie. person who has swiped in the most times. It has helped with building cross departmental relationships as well as the obvious health benefits.
I am about to intake some research on what benefits people actually want and attract people.
Good luck!
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply, that is really useful information. Some of the benefits we offer include are interest free loan for apple products, home emergency insurance, travel insurance, ride2work scheme, childcare vouchers, season ticket loan, health medical cash plan, fitness first gym membership, pension 2% or 3% matching contribution (5% after 3 years). I do like the idea of the annual awards, what other awards do you do?
Let me know how your research goes, we are also looking to conduct some research after the renewals period.
Thanks
Jaspreet

Hi Jaspreet,
Wow that's lots of interesting benefits, some I hadn't thought of before.
Regarding the annual awards, they cover lots of different areas and are presented at the Christmas Party, which includes all staff from semi-trained operator and above. We have monthly awards for employee of the month (nominations are inline with company behaviours/values) and employee suggestion of the month, so the annual awards include employee of the year and suggestion of the year. We also have a draw from all those with 100% attendance, one individual wins a prize and I think we had apprentice of the year last year, as we now have about 12-15 at any one time.
Personally I think that is about as much as you can manage and keep peoples' attention! But for the more junior managers, line leaders etc and the apprentices, I do think it makes a difference. We also do a glossy printed newsletter quarterly so all winners are included in that.
I should probably explain, my company has approx. 900 employees based in two large manufacturing facilities on the same industrial park, so it is a real mix of cultures, skills and roles, with 24/7 shifts and office based personnel too.
Thanks,
Alex
Hi Jaspreet
Crikey now you are testing us.
In my last role I remember a wheel thingy that could you sping round to identify benefits, I'll try to find it and post a picture.
Does anyone else have any ideas for Jaspreet?
All the best
Sarah
That would be great to see:) just trying to get the most out of the community!
One idea is that our benefits broker are inviting some of the suppliers in so that employees can ask questions directly to have a benefits day. We are also going to be focusing on one benefit each week and giving testimonials from other employees.
Thanks
