Hi All,
I am looking for some tips on employee engagement. We have just issed our first ever employee feedback questionnaire, it is completely anonymous as we're hoping for honest feedback to help improve our employee retention.
Unfortunatley, we have only receieved 20% of the questionairres back which is disapointing.
Does anyone have any tips on getting employees onboard and responding?
Thanks in advance,
Emma

Hi,
We have recently sent out our employee engagement survey and had a good response. It has been sent out a couple of times to remind the people who haven't completed it when the deadline is and to complete before this time.
We have made it clear to employees why the survey is being done and how it can help from their feedback. We have also asked our HR Relationship Managers to work with managers to be reminding their teams to complete the survey.
Thanks,

Hi
I have been involved in staff surveys in the past. How was the survey delivered? Was it paper format or email with a link to a google form? Were there lots of promotion, posters, comms and managers explaining it's the employees opportunity to have their say? Competition sometimes helps, reporting on which departments/areas and their results (if you have included the area or grade in the survey). Having 'champions' for the survey will nudge people to fill it in. They can explain what will happen to the feedback. Have you publicised what the outcomes and actions were of the last survey? Such as 'you said, we did'. It helps with engagement if people can see that there was action.
Hope that helps

Babs
Hi Emma
How is it going - have you received anymore questionnaires back? How big is your organisation?
Hi Shamina
Unfortunatlely we didn't, we sent out 800 questionnaires. We are made sure we wrote out to all 800 with answers to the main trends in the repsonses, so we're hoping seeing answers and changes following recieving completed questionnaires will encourage more people to respond next time.
Hi Emma
How disappointing do you think that the employees fully understand how and what this will be used for?
There is a really good article here by survey monkey which explores different ways of improving responses rates to surveys. Looks interesting and I hope this helps!

We recently launched our first survey too, conducted through an external company who gather and analyse the data. We are donating £2 per completed survey to charity. We’re at 62%.
Thanks Faye, Maybe we will start to look into incentives to encourage employee's then.
Many thanks
