With the referndum approaching it will not be as simple as whether Greece wish to stay in the euro or not - instead it asks Greeks to approve or reject the specific terms laid out by Greece's creditors. I have been thinking about what does this all mean from an HR perspective if Greece leave the Eurozone and the EU?
Firstly if you are a business who has employees working in Greece on an assignment basis? How will this impact the reward package that they receive whilst out there? For businesses who have commercial agreements with Greece will this be in Euros or a new currency (possibly the Drachma?). What about the movement of people to Greece and how will this affect companies who have highly skilled Greeks currently working within their businesses?
If I am honest I don't really know and am still scratching my head, but if you work in a business and you have been contingency planning for the possible outcomes it would be great to hear what you have been considering!
