Have you used the ACAS helpline?

Hi all,

I attended an ACAS employment law update last week, and the leader was very enthusiastic about the Acas helpline, encouraging us to use the service when next in need of a quick answer from a very reliable and dependable source.

Today, I had just that need. It was one of those occasions where it's not quite a straight forward answer to a concern, the manager was getting himself wound up and the member of staff had come to me for advice.  I won't go into the intricacies here, as it would fill a fair few screens worth of text!

Suffice to say, I gave the helpline a go.

I have to say, I was most impressed with the service. A bit of waiting while I confirmed that I wasn't ringing about min wage etc. but very soon I was chatting away to an Acas advisor. He was able to very quickly give me all the information I needed to be able to resolve the matter very quickly.  Both the manager and the staff member were happy to accept it without any further query.

So, next time you are faced with a situation where you need quick and dependable advice on an HR matter - give them a bell on 08457 474747

It's a free service so why not give it a go?

Anyone else had similar experience, or perhaps otherwise?

  • Hi there,  I have used lots of times.  It is an excellent, confidential service and their templates are brilliant.  Saves you loads of time as you don't have to create  your own.  Give it a go!

  • That sounds an excellent service Steve.

I have just had a quick look at their website and it has a fair amount of useful guidance, templates etc.

Thankyou for the heads up as I wouldn't have thought of looking there otherwise :)
