Hi all,
This is my 1st discussion thread so a big hello to everyone! I have just submitted my Reflective Blog and hope to achieve the L5 HR Management Qualification. I never thought I could do it if I'm honest but the support from peers and guidance from tutors has been 2nd to none.
My goal now is to look for HR Advisory positions but I'm very keen to get any advice, tips, guidance on potential interview questions that may arise? Would anyone out there have experience of being on panels that could support?
Thanks in anticipation
Conor

Well done Conor on completeing your Level 5 and welcome to the HR Zone.
I interview for HR Consultants for my business, I usually ask them things they are most proud of in their career to date, What the most challenging issue they have had to deal with.
I also set them a desktop scenario where they have to prioritise and answer emails from clients, this is so I can assess their technical knowledge, prioritisation skills and also they grammar.
I do appreciate thought it is a two way street and most of the interview I am also selling to them the benefits of the scheme.
Hope this helps
All the best
Sarah
Hi Sarah
Thanks so much for your well wishes and for your advice. Would you please a large emphasis on their understanding of policies and legislation?
The desktop scenario sounds very interesting and applicable given the nature of the role.
Many thanks, Conor
Hi Conor
I guess technical skills are always of importance and it is a given for me that the candidate will be up to speed legislation wise. Policies they can learn from the business.
Common sense and initiative always go a long way for me.
Good Luck!
Sarah
Hi Conor
First of all many congratulations!
I would expect that there would be a number of scenario & competency based questions.
Glassdoor is a great resource if you’ve not already got the app I would recommend this. You can read reviews from employees about companies you are considering applying for a job with, read interviewees experiences at interview and typical questions they were asked. You can also register for job vacancy alerts.
Wishing you every success for the future. Would be great to hear how you are getting on.
Karen
Hi Karen,
I've never used Glassdoor before, I will definitely check it out to review typical questions that might arise.
Many thanks for all your well wishes and of course I will keep in touch.
Conor
Thanks so much Gary, could not have done it without all the support you and the DPG team provided. I certainly did it the hard way but it's worth it!
Thanks to you all.
Excuse me for ignoring your question, Conor - but I just wanted to say a massive congratulations!
