#HRActsofKindness is back for a pre-Christmas special, but you don't need to be in HR and everyone can get involved. The campaign was first started in July by Natalie Ellis, a HR professional, to boost motivation in her organisation following the challenges of this year. But as others picked up on the story, goodwill spread further, globally, as others joined in and considered acts of kindness they could demonstrate in their own organisation. The idea is that people consider ways in which they can be kind in their own work and communities. Using Twitter and a hashtag keeps the conversation going allowing people to share their stories and ideas.

It's back following the success in July that we wrote about and now is the perfect time to get involved. As winter blues creep up and we enter what can be a tough time of year for some, kindness really does help. Alongside this, there's the considerations we can make following on from last week's CIPD Annuual Conference and Exhibition themed around the future of work. HR play a vital role in influencing culture and need to be advocates of these kind behaviours. Gem Dale, a member of CIPD's Annual Conference and Exhibition blog squad this year agreed. Talking about the role HR plays in the future of work, she said 'It's about still being a good human, still doing all that good people stuff and never losing sight of that'. Kindness really is contagious and it's not a bad one to have lying about in your organisation. If us people people are to influence the culture of our organisations, #HRActsofKindness is well worth exploring.

We've love to hear your stories of acts of kindness. We'd like to see some photos too. Please do get involved and encourage others to do so too. You'll find some ideas on getting started here. You can also hear more about what Natalie told us about #HRActsofKindness on the video below.

Looking forward to hearing your stories. Comment below.
