According to XPert HR, 10% of newly hired recruits leave within the first year of joining an organisation. Noelle Murphy, Senior HR Practice editor for Xpert HR said,

‘Our data on turnover rates among those with less than 12 months service shows just how important it is for HR to look carefully at its recruitment and strategy selection’.

Other statistics in the research show that employee resignations are at a five year high increasing steadily since 2012.

You can find out more information on this report on HR Review.

How do you approach reviewing your recruitment and strategy selection? Do you track the resignation figures in your organisation particularly with those that are newly inducted? What tips have you got for driving down the resignation figures?

I’d love to hear from you.

  • Thanks for sharing Ady. This could be useful to level 5 HRM participants investigating staff turnover as part of their UIN assignment.
