Personnel Systems - what can you recommend?

Dear all, (and happy new year!)

We have been wanting to change our web based personnel system for some time, had thought we had found a perfect fit (Moorepay) but after consistent poor service and numerous faults with the personnel site and the payroll support, we gave it up after only 6 weeks.

I was hoping somebody in the community could recommend a system for me? I am after a system that can:

- run reports on absence, holiday bookings, training undertaken and when, and so on

-info regarding start date, salary, personal details

-the ability for several line managers to view their staff's holiday calendar and to approve holidays

-holiday calendar for multiple countries and ability to change bank holiday accordingly

-support documents regarding general employment law

etc etc

I am not going to bore you all with too much details. Basically, I would really like an easy to use web based system that our personnel can log onto wherever they are in the world, one that they can have confidence in will work and not constantly give them 'log in error' messages.

If you know of one that can be of that calibre, I would very much appreciate the name of it!

Many thanks for your support!

Cheer, Toril

  • Hi Toril, we use Citation (www.citation.co.uk) and although I am relatively new to it I'm pretty sure it covers all your points above.

  • We are using ADP it was implemented in December and we rolled out self service in January. So far so good. It is a full professional system for HR & Payroll and for employees they can book holidays, view payslips and personal details. Managers can use it to record absences and appraisals can be run through the system.

  • I would recommend Cascade - fantastic system from what we have seen, just finished our proposal to give to our HRD, we currently use something called Easipay Plus which is not fit for purpose.

  • Hi Toril,

I work in Hospitality and we use a great system called Fourth. They are based in London, Covent Garden and have good phone support and account managers. My company has used them for over 8 years for our people system and you can log, track and report on all options, you can administer payroll, HR and Training through it.

If you need anymore details - please let me know.

    thanks,

    Dianah

  • Going through loads of training for it in next couple of months so I shall come armed with the various reports and how to run them Steve!

  • Hi Toril

We are just going through the process of implementing Sage as an all singing all dancing payroll, HR, self service system, it has lots of add ons and looks pretty impressive to be honest.

I have also had experience of Pegasus Opera which I loved, was very easy to use and like Sage the payroll and personnel talked to each other.

There are quite a lot of them about so would probably be a good idea to get a few out to see you and let them demo what they can do!

    Hope this helps

    Rachel

    • Thank you Rachel!

Sage is one of the ones I was going to investigate further - that looks promising!

      Cheers,

      Toril

    • Hi Toril,

I have Sage as well, though I'm still finding my way around it. It all seems to be quite intuitive and I'm sure it will deliver all I want from my HR system - in time!

I'm yet to work out how to run reports on it though. I know it does it, but I haven't figured it out. Seems like Rachel might be able to shed some light on that for me!

See you both in two weeks,

      Steve

      • Thanks to you too Steve..we can talk Sage next time we meet! We know how to live ey?
