Hi all,

Have any of you come across rhw following situation as yet, and if so what procedure did you follow please?

We have a colleague who left the business in February 2020, and has contacted us to ask if we can offer him furlough. We really want to help him but are not sure of the procedure, and implications of having to keep him of after COVID-19 passes. We need to be mindful of payroll costs going forward so are cautious about this.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Lou

  • Hi Lou

If your employee left before the 28 February the JRS does not allow you to re-employ them and put them on furlough. They have to have been employed on 28th Feb and left (for any reason) after this date.
