Redundancy during Furlough

Hi All, At my current work place the unfortunate decision has been made to make 99+ employees redundant following the most recent Government announcement. However - during the consultation/notice period - do employees need to be paid full pay? I only ask as I can't see how employees can be on a 'job retention scheme' whilst being made redundant?Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Melissa

  • HI Melissa,

We have been advised by our lawyers that there is no need to top up during the consultation period but as Kay has said, you must top up their pay to full pay during their notice period.

Good luck, and look after yourself.

  • Good Morning Melissa,

Sorry to hear this. They can work their notice period whilst being on Furlough and at the point of confirming notice, they will receive their pay at 100%.
