Reference books

Typing this again... just somehow lost the previous post (and I'm not sure still if this is the right place to post?)

What does everyone do for reference books? I'm studying Level5 and the extensive reading list suggests books which are in the £30-40 range (I would only want to buy one, so which is the best?)

I've even been to the library today and they couldn't help (nor could they find the books in other libraries).

I've asked colleagues who have studied ILM/MBAs and they can provide organisational strategy based books, but not focused on HR.

So what's the solution?!

There's an active CIPD facebook page where I've often seen people post want-ads for books. Might be an idea to look there?
