Hi everyone,I'm curious to hear your thoughts and assumptions for the future state of the total reward package.
We know people increasingly expect flexibility, we know there's better engagement with personalised rewards and we know that employees/talent now want greater transparency around our practices.
But something which has got me really curious, is the state of reward when 20, 30, 40 ...50%(!) of the workforce are working on a freelance basis.

Of course a lot depends on the nature of the organisation and the work involved; but if the gig economy does grow to this scale, many of our more traditional reward principles become applicable to fewer and fewer workers.
So I suppose my questions to you are:
- what proportion of the UK workforce, do you predict, will be freelance/self employed by 2020?
- are there any benefits to an organisation which provides a comprehensive total reward package to contractors? Or is a hefty day rate and a performance bonus enough?
- do you currently extend any parts of your reward package to contractors? E.g. Staff discount card etc. If so, what and why?
