Really interesting today to wake up to hear Uber on the news following the outcome of the investigation into alleged sexual harassment and its worplace culture.
The person being interviewed was of the view that as a start up business which had grown rapidly that Uber had failed to get the basics in place in terms or HR policies and that this has led to the issues under investigation. Although I am not sure about HR asking everyone to hug each other!!!
Also interesting to see that the CEO has been asked to take a leave of absence.
Just goes to show that growing start ups need to get its HR in order otherwise the brand repercussions and fall out can be damaging.
Does anyone have any views on startups out there that have achieved this? It would be interesting to hear your views.
