Does anyone have a decent link for the Ulrich model - I was listening to the CIPD podcast on 'the changing face of HR' and it refers to the Ulrich model a lot but when I google it I get all sorts of results (some quite rude!) .
Does anyone have a link relevant to HR?
Thanks in advance :-)

A good explanation of how Ulrich's model has moved on - this was recorded in 2012 and it will be interesting to see if the new CIPD map will reflect Ulrich's findings.

Hi Emma,
If you go on www.hbr.org you can find the below article by David Ulrich; but to access the full article you need to be subscribed or you could buy it for a small price:
A New Mandate for Human Resources
or have a look on this chapter describing the Ulrich model ( which might answer to your question):

Hope this helps :)

Hi Emma,
Some good links by Alison below. There are a number of different resources and links etc in the Community - if you put Ulrich in the search engine (top right) you'll get a number of resources.

Hi Emma,
If you google on "Dave Ulrich's model" you will get lots of choice of articles and pictures describing various HR models that Dave Ulrich has worked on and developed over many decades (eg the HR business partner model in the 1970s!)
Here is a link to an article he wrote in November 2012, for Personnel Today - which even has a lovely photo of him.
In this article he describes the 6 competencies that he thinks HR professionals need to tackle today's challenges such as the economic crisis, globalisation, rate of technological change and so on. He sees HRs role as needing to be increasingly strategic.

Here is a link to a Popular slideshare presentation about his model.
Hope they help. (There's plenty more links once you get into these)
Best of luck,
Alison :)
