I'm about to head into several days of meeting with various reps, about health plans for staff.
There are loads of course, and I want to be sure that I'm looking at the best option - which will probably prove to be the most popular one out there.
It would be good to know things like...
How many employers pay for the entire cost of the package?
How many facilitate a scheme where individuals can opt into paying for their own cover at a better rate than if they did so through a personal plan?
Who has a mix, with employer paying basic cover, topped up by staff if they want to?
Any feedback would be much appreciated,
Tks
Steve

My last employer (circa 1000 employees) offered Westfield Health which cost all employees £9.95 per month. However the Company offered a yearly benefit to all employees which covered the level 1 of this scheme and any employee wanting to upgrade their level of cover or include family for example, could pay the difference.
Where I am at the minute (circa 100 employees) we use Aviva and unfortunately the scheme is all over the place with only 5 employees being part of it. This does only cover the individual employee however we're looking at relaunching this with offering it to employees of a certain level and above I.e senior management.
There are lots of different schemes out there but I think it all depends on the size of the business that determines the right plan for your organisation.

I've been looking at cash plans on and off for ages and keep getting turned down. I think they are great and if you can get one that comes with an Employee Assistance line then even better.
I've looked at Bupa, Westfield Health and others and they all seem great.
Sarah I think its great your company pay for basic level that's what I want our company to do then let employees increase and add partners if they want to.
Only other thing I would add Steve is that my last company had one in place but it was voluntary and only had 5 staff in it!
Let me know how you get on, you've spurred me on into looking into again!

Our organisation uses 'Medicash' and we pay for level 1 cover as a basic benefit for all staff. It is taxable but the amount really is very small! Then, there is the option for employees to upgrade to different levels, or opt out of the scheme altogether.

It's still quite new to us, as we only introduced this back 2-3 months ago, but all seems to be very good so far :)
Many thanks Sarah, I'll have a look at that.
