As usual at 3pm on Christmas Day we expect to see an appearance from Her Majesty The Queen as she delivers her traditional annual Christmas message. The Queen typically uses her speech to reflect on the past year and the major events that have taken place in Britain and around the world. There's plenty to talk about on that front this year. She also likes to talk about the highlights of the year for herself and her family. Her 90th birthday celebrations and her granddaughter Zara Tindall’s pregnancy will perhaps be mentioned. There will no doubt be words of wisdom she offers as we move into the new year.
It's often the case at this time of year for messages, words, stories and inspiration to be shared in organisations too. For some organisations, this means large black-tie events with shiny awards handed out to employees. For others, it's fond words in a team meeting around this time of year. Often, the more informal approach of conversation over a table at a company gathering.
What words have been shared in your organisation? Have there been any speeches? If not, what if there was the equivalent of a Queen's Speech in your organisation? Powerful reflections over the year that's just happened with inspirational words for the year ahead. What would it contain? What would those key messages be?
