  • Hi Sarah

Thanks for sharing this.  I watched the first programme in this series and really enjoyed it.  I had heard of the more collaborative methods of recruitment used by Google, etc. and so saw this as a great opportunity to see one in action, despite it being televised and any influence that this may have had.  I think there are some obvious benefits; getting everyone involved in the process whatever their role, getting 'buy in', listening to feedback, creating positive energy in the workplace and the fact that they were already getting to know their potential manager at this early stage providing a head start for the induction process and 'settling in'.  I enjoyed watching the people skills in action; we got to see how the candidates treated people and how people reacted as they were tasked with working alongside each other carrying out some typical everyday duties.  As long as the candidates have been subject to a thorough first filter prior to this point, I think this or aspects of this could come in useful; certainly liven things up and, in turn, as long as well thought out and planned, create some positive energy/engagement.  It's something I'll be thinking about in more detail anyway and adding to my recruitment tools for clients.  I've added it to my CPD record:)

    Thanks

    Lynne

    • Fantastic great to see it has helped your CPD Lynne!

  • Hi Sarah, I've been watching it.  It would never happen in the FCO can you imagine all 6000 staff having a say?

I am a little disappinted the Brew Dog changed the job, but think they would have chosen him anyway... What a culture the organisation had!

    • Hi Emma

Yes I know what a culture!

      All the best

  • Hi Sarah,

Thank you for sharing this documentary, but I cannot open this. Also I tried to connect with you I get the message as insufficient memory, not sure why as I did get connected with a few other members from the Spring 2016 course.

    Kind Regards,

    Sakshi Gangawane
