We are looking to take on a few apprentices in 2018.
Our aim is to reach out to the schools to attract candidates but this is a whole new world to me!
Can anyone offer advice on the best approach to connect with the pupils.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know a head teacher of a large school very well who might be able to help. Where are you based geographically? I am in Hants.

Most secondary schools will have someone appointed to provide careers guidance, who sets up events for pupils looking into post 16/18 careers and opportunities and how to access these. They would be good to contact and find out what's planned and maybe get a slot on some events to promote your apprenticeship opportunities .

Thanks Mike, appreciate your advice. I'm interested to know how you connected with the schools? Were they open to you contacting them direct & was it a success?
Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the world of apprenticeships. We took on our first apprentice 5 years ago and she is now our digital marketing assistant at DPG.
There are a number of ways you can approach taking on an apprentice - from approach schools directly, providing insight days or going through a dedicated agency.
The starting place though is the Employer Guide to Apprenticeships on the Gov website
Hope this helps and let us know how you progress
Has anyone else got experience of attracting and employing apprentices for the first time?
Mike
