OK so you might have heard of one of the latest hot topics in the world of L&D that is neuroscience. The CIPD themselves are running some workshops on the subject which you can find out more about here.

The study of the brain and how it works is of course nothing new, however what we have learned over the last centuries, decades and in recent studies is HOW we can apply what we know to Learning & Development to help people learn.

As Learning Professionals we do need to be aware of the HOW in order to design meaningful learning experiences, well structured and aligned to the learning outcomes or desired change.

Whilst the following article states eLearning, the strategies and approaches can be applied to any learning situation and design methodology.

There are some great tips here which I'm sure you'll enjoy and benefit from. This ties in directly with our Brain Friendly Learning module in our LDP programme.

Brain-based Strategies to create Effective Learning

Below is also an ebook on the subject

  • Thanks for sharing this wonderful resource, Mike.

Neuroscience is a bit of a bandwagon that many people seem to be jumping on.  Let us not forget that the brain comes with a body and so forms part of a complex biological system.
