Hi everyoneI'm looking to tender for a piece of work and was hoping you could throw in some recommendations;I need to build a 3-tiered assessment programme (online) which can be packaged up and sit on our LMS. The principle of the three tiers is to test knowledge of process/policy, which would have already been appropriately 'trained' in, and to then build through two other tiers of scenario based questioning/free text answers and also a layer of video and image based questions/scenarios.Was keen to know if anyone has built and using anything similar and if you could make any recommendations of specialist suppliers. This would be changing the direction of how we currently deliver and assess a segement of training so I will compile a blog and share any significant learning from the project!Thank you in advance,Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Good to see you on the community. I am still waiting for you to do the Level 5!!!!!

Good Luck with the assessment piece.

    • Hi Howard

Sorry! I haven't called you yet since you sent me an email response...! I'll call you this week, I wanted to talk through your suggestions

      Chris

  • Hi Chris, not sure how this would work with the set up you are looking at, but Elephants Don't Forget has a pretty unique way of assessing knowledge online with a Q&A process that tailors both to the knowledge that's been gained and the individual's success rate.  Having met with them for a previous organisation, they'd be my wildcard suggestion

    • Hi Liz. We invited Elephants Don't Forget in to see us last week, they were fab with a very interesting concept. Thank you for making that recommendation!!

    • Thank you Liz - I will definitely look them up! We've been using the same suppliers for 2+ years so I value these suggestions, time to test the market and see what the best can offer. I shall build a blog for this project for others to view / learn from where necessary :-)

  • Hi Chris. Great question. I'm wondering who builds the content for your existing LMS at the moment. Whether it's done by a supplier or in-house, it could be a good starting place to find the support you need. Articulate Storyline could be a good choice to build this in. Have you seen that before?

    • Hi Ady. We use a number of suppliers to build our content at present, I have used articulate storyline to good effect with a couple of projects. Unfortunately don't have the resource at present to create in-house so saw this new project as an opportunity to see who in the industry can deliver something a little more innovating... Our audiences are a little tired of our standard course developments so I'm in dire need of something to create big impact!
      • HI Chris,

I watched a webinar yesterday (from a company called "Filtered") which I found interesting.(They host a whole programme of webinars which are held on their website).

They use an algorithm to filter the content of a compliance e learning course so a learner only sees what they need to learn and don't waste time on other things. (I haven't seen any of their courses so couldn't comment on what they are like.) They are keen to use a tailored approach with scenario based training relating to specific delegates roles, so that the application of the principles being taught is clear, thus enhancing transfer of learning to the workplace.

Where I work we use a couple of different providers of "off the shelf" e learning and I know they both build bespoke courses if requested. Several LMS providers also build e learning courses and there are also individuals who run their own business doing just this sort of thing, so once word gets out I'm sure you will have plenty of course builders offering to assist you. Our most recently rolled out course (ABAC) was provided by a law firm and the case scenarios wich were being tested all involved our own SLT, complete with cartoon pictures of them - it was quite engaging :)

        • Thanks Alison, I downloaded their white paper and will read through on my travels this week. I also had a call with one of their sales reps; my initial impression is they appear to be good at filtering the off the shelf modules but seemed less confident when I explained the complexities of my subject and that I would need something quite bespoke to the business but I will let you know how I get on!!
