Engaging Modern Learners

There is a great article by Steven Wainwright for the Training Journal that I came across this morning, with some top tips on engaging the modern learner.

Some of the key points I took away from this are :

1. Creating a digital workplace that supports people and processes is crucial.  By making learning mobile information becomes instantly accessible anytime & anywhere.

2. Taking a top-down approach.  Senior Leaders need to buy-in to the learning programme as well and highlight learner success within the organisation.

3.  Social Learning - Incorporating game-based elements within in learning to encourage participation and competition.  The social element drives engagement and motivation.

4.  Curation - By having a content curation strategy in place it helps learners make sense of the resources for themselves.

I have attached a link to the full article below :-

It would be great to hear from our L&D professionals on the community this week, on all the above points.

Do you currently practice any/all of these within your organisation and if so what successes/challenges have you had?

Thanks

Karen
