Good Decision Making in the Workplace

Hello everyone,

I am looking into developing a leadership module around good and positive decision making.

There are many tools, approaches and strategies around this topic but I was wandering if anyone had tackled this topic before and could share their experiences, ideas, thoughts or tasks on the subject? Other areas of interest that will be part of the session will cover things like the use of coaching in performance conversations, objectivity, balancing risk and is doing nothing an option?

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome,

Carl

  • Hi Carl,

You're right there are loads of tools and approaches on the topic so how are you going to make yours come to life and stand out. Personally the theory is of minor importance to actually practicing something and trying it out.

In elearning the use of branching scenarios works really well to help people make decisions that affect the outcome of what there trying to achieve - you could do something really relevant for them and create a number of branching scenarios where there decisions take them down a path - that could be positive or it could be the opposite.

There is an online tool called Twine that could help you write some user stories with some branching involved

Hope this helps and good luck!
