It's no big secret that technology has a place in our HRD agendas. There is no escaping the huge benefits this technology brings. The speed of business, pace of change and need for quick communication means it cannot be ignored.
That is why some of my focus at the moment is looking at live online learning, a way of blending computer based learning with that live human real interaction. Technology is now at a place where it is so much easier to do this. Microphones and headphones allow us to have discussions as if we were face to face, whilst whiteboard sharing allow us to do collaborative brainstorming and exercises with our online delegates.
But, for anyone that knows me, you'll know that this intent is designed to work alongside what we do and certainly not offer a replacement. I love people and I love being with them, otherwise I probably wouldn't be doing the job that I do!
And the online way of connecting simply can't replace that face to face connection we have.
That's why I share the BIGGEST FEAR that organisations have when it comes to live online learning. It's probably the same one you have too. You can find out what it is and why it is the case that live online learning will not replace face to face training in the attached audio. It's a piece taken from a conversation I had the other day with DPG's Mike Collins on the subject.
It lasts just over four minutes and is well worth a listen! 13th December Ady Howes with Mike Collins Live Online Learning Fears

Hi Ady,
Hope all is well with you.
A really useful discussion, which certainly echoed some of my own fears and it sounded great!!
Kind regards
