Looking for an L&D role

Hi,I am currently seeking employment in an L&D role and would be grateful for any advice or guidance. I have over 14 years experience working within the financial and banking services from marketing to customer servicing. In those roles I have experience of collaboration, mentoring, coaching, team leadership and liaising with key stakeholders including the media. As I have always enjoyed helping people, when I was made redundant in 2012 I chose to go into teaching and I completed a degree in secondary education in 2015. However I made a decision to go back into business and become an L&D professional, as such I self funded a level 3 in L&D. I have a lot of experience and transferable skills but haven't worked within an L&D department, which I think is going against me when applying for roles. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me out or let me know of any opportunities even if it is just observation.Many thanksKev

Kev,

I'm sure with that background including the teaching you will find a relevant senior role. L&D roles unfortunately are often not as frequent as HR roles and in my twenty plus years in the profession, there is such a blurring now of boundaries. Look at what you have done and look also at Talent role as this encompasses L&D activity as well as HR. So, in terms of search, ensure you do key words including all these areas. Look on Total Jobs for a start. Don't lose hope, there is an increase lately in these roles.
