Hello everyone,
I hope you are well and staying safe.
I feel selfish posting this but I was wondering if anyone else had come to a crossroads with their own development? I completed the CIPD L5 a year or so ago and quite fancy the L7. I am particularly interested in the apprentice standard version as it encompasses more OD which I now take in as part of my role but this standard isn't approved yet and there is no knowing how long this will take to gain approval. This leads me back to the CIPD L7 which would be self funded.
Has anyone taken a different route or are there any other options I should be looking at?
Thanks for reading,
Martyn

Hi Martyn
Congratulations on completing L5! I have just completed my L5 and am now wondering what step to take next, too. Have you considered doing a L7 award before signing up to the full course?
Kind regards
Jayne
Hello Jayne,
Congratulations on completing your L5 too!
The award isn't something I'd considered before. I think if I were to do the L7 I'd be weighing up the benefits of a certficate vs a diploma. I seem to remember the difference between a L5 cert and diploma was just 2 modules but I could be wrong.
Have you seen the apprenticeship version of the L7? It looks very exciting but hasn't been approved yet.

Hi Martyn,
Thank you. Yes, I believe the certificate and diploma are just two modules different. Level 7 looks slightly different, it looks as though with the certificate there are 4 modules and the diploma is 8 modules.
I may possibly opt for the certificate this time round!
Hopefully the apprenticeship could be an option too.
Kind regards
Jayne
