I was the Learning Live conference in London this week. There were some great sessions which I I'll share more on soon. In the meantime, I thought this short video on failure by the keynote at the conference Jamil Quershi was worth highlighting. Jamil made the point that we learn most in our lives between the ages of one and three. This is the period in which we are constantly learning from our mistakes - through play. He makes the point that failure is at the heart of learning and critical to how we develop as humans. However, fear inhibits us from failing. But success comes from failing, it is the reward.
So, how do we go about enabling failure in the learning process? And how do you do it in your own professional development? I think it is a difficult issue to talk about but maybe we need to do more of it?
