I've been involved in a few conversations recently about mindset.
- Abundance Mindset
- Scarcity Mindset
- Growth Mindset
- Fixed Mindset
I've got a blog brewing somewhere about this as mindset ultimately affects how you see things, how you react to things, what and how you do things - and also the opportunities you see around learning.
It's a fascinating subject - I then came across this post by Jane Hart entitled 50 + things you think if you have an 'old workplace learning' mindset. Slightly more wordy but I was quite intrigued to see what this old learning mindset involved
The Internet Time Alliance compiled this list and I'd like you to take a look and see what you think.

Do you see this thinking in your own organisation?
Do you think like this as a learning professional?
Is there still place for this thinking or shall we get our pitch forks out and drive these thoughts away as they are no longer fit for purpose?
I'd love to hear your thoughts

You think “learning objectives” rather than “performance outcomes.”
This one is so good. I know to caught myself thinking this way sometimes. Like I need to learn, but no I need to perform. And while I perform I will learn.
Hear hear!
Chuckling all the way through this list :-)
There is not single one of these I would seriously defend and try and keep in the new world of learning.

Hi Mike
Good questions. I'd also chuck this article into the pot as it adds some useful context. If our mission is to create wonderful employee experiences, what does that mean for L&D?
