If you are at the CIPD's annual conference this week then why not share your take-aways with the community? I thought it would be a good idea to hear what others have picked up from the conference. And don't fear if you cannot make it in person because you can always follow from afar, which I explain here. The Twitter hashtag for the conference is #CIPD15.

  • A quick reflection from me Martin as I've arrived back at DPG HQ was the sheer choice of things to get involved in and the different experiments going on with technology which meant there was more ability to pick and choose what you did and where you did it....and how you got involved. Lots of great content, conversations and curation helping spread the word.

We had people streaming conference sessions, interviews, reviews and conversations via Periscope

Take a look at the streams from Tim Scott here using Periscope instead of the traditional blog http://timscott.net/hrblogging/cipd15/

I thought the event app was excellent with it's own activity stream, reminders and leaderboard on who was contributing and active. I felt more involved with things going on as well a being able to rate sessions I attended.

My session went well with my little experiment going off without major hitch and you can see the slides and interactions from the presentation here - more to follow on this.

There were great events around the CIPD with street wisdom and L&D Connect events, breakfast unscrambled and even Salsa lessons. It all gave the conference a very connected and social feel.

There was also a great sense of open sharing going on and conversations were positive and brave - exactly the sort of conversations that should reflect an Institute that is trying to raise thew bar in the HR and L&D and make better work and working lives a reality.

For anyone interested you can also tap in to the reflections from the other blog squad members here

I'd be interested in your thoughts and reflections on the conference and how it's compared to others / past conferences ?

    • Great insights here Mike, thankyou.

You inspired me to do a quick video review . . .
