Hi,
I was gutted to find out that DPG no longer hold their graduation ceremony as they have recently changed learning provider and they do not offer it.
Just wondered how anyone else feels about this.
Thanks
Carly

Thanks for all your comments and glad to hear i'm not the only one that is gutted. I wonder if we can rally up a few more people to maybe encourage CIPD or even DPG to put something on. The Level 7 is a really big commitment it seems such a missed opportunity not to enable students to celebrate their commitment to the programme.
I think it is such a poor decision to have made, and I'm more disappointed that they haven't communicated the change with students who would be expecting a graduation - most are finding out because they've asked about it.
As bitter as it may seem, I will not recommend DPG/ICS to any potential student because they've really been poor in student communication and engagement and this has been, for me, the final straw.
I obviously don't know how much it costs to hire the garments and put a graduation on, but I'm sure if there were enough students who wanted it we could make it happen. I'd even be willing to pay a fee towards it, such as for the gown hire etc.
It was a personal thing for me wanting the graduation, and one of the main reasons I chose DPG so I feel really let down by it.
I've just bought a graduation gown and academic hood off ebay so that I can celebrate with my family instead. I'll send an email to the CIPD and DPG saying how dissapointed we are and see what response I get. I'll keep you posted.
Really annoyed about it if I'm honest Carly, but no one at DPG is bothered.
I appreciate some student won't mind but, I never went to university and that's something I've regretted. Doing my Level 7 knowing I would get the opportunity to 'graduate', wear a cap and gown and celebrate that with my family meant a great deal to me, and was a huge selling point in choosing to study with DPG. It attracted many to choose DPG - then they've just taken it away with no thought or consideration on the wider impact.
I understand in light of the pandemic wanting to 'cost save', and change how things are done. But I find it extremely disappointing (and unfair) that they have disregarded everyone enrolled before the decision was made, and failed to even communicate it! I had to email to ask and that's how I found out. I'm pretty sure the cost of the graduation is rolled up in the cost of the course too so, technically I think the decision they've made has been in poor taste and handled poorly too.
Yeah. I would have like to have attended the graduation ceremony.
Am disappointed it will not be happening.
I didnt even know about this, would you be able to wear a cap and gown for this? I wonder if that was the same for level 5 (wearing the cap and gown) and ceremony?
It does seem unfair to remove this, why not hold thier own?
