Long Term Recognition

Hi All,

I am currently looking into bringing in a Long Term Recognition scheme at work and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of the type of reward we could offer.

This would be for 5 and 10 years service.

Many thanks for your help

Jen

  • Hi Jen,

I guess it all depends on budgets and the size of your company.

Where I work, at each 5 year milestone, they give an employee a bonus in their pay (I think its £300 at 5 years, £600 at 10 years etc) and they are invited to a Long Term Celebration which occurs twice a year. This is where anyone on a milestone will be invited plus a guest,to a 3 course meal, drinks and disco all provided by the company. At these dos, a manager will host a table and be responsible for organising drinks for the table and generally keeping people happy. Its a great way of recognising long term comitment to the company. Anyone on their 25 year of service gets an entire table of guests to invite to the celebration.

Other companys offer things like more annual leave or gift vouchrs, but I like the big celebrations.
