The Charity Learning Consortium annual conference took place last week in London. I have pulled together tweets from the day, which you can see here. I was looking back through what was said and was struck by the tweet above from Tim Scott who shared what Paul Morgan, head of L&D for Telefonica UK, had to say about training ROI.

Measuring the impact of training is a highly contested area as anyone in L&D will tell you. Is it worthwhile having learning outcomes, for example, when the only outcome that matters is the business outcome? And if so, how do you go about linking a learning intervention to a business outcome? There are many factors impacting on business outcomes and learning is just one of them, so how can you isolate its specific impact?

I'll stop asking questions, but Paul's tweet really got me thinking. Be interested to hear your view on this . . . how are you measuring business impact and outcomes?
