I've just read a great blog post by David Goddin entitled Where is L&D when it comes to organisational performance? In it, David ponders the issue of performance and why "I hear very little from the L&D community about their role in delivering demonstrable organisational performance".
David's post raises a number of issues around measuring impact and how L&D as a whole describes its role in improving performance. There's lots to think about here, so I'd encourage you to have a read of David'd post.
